Quickstart

The fastest way to see it work: on the Welcome page, Try it with a sample app creates a sample app, release, fleet and deployment in one click and shows the command to run. Delete the sample app whenever you like. The steps below are the same thing done by hand, for your own image.

  1. Create an app under Publish → Apps: its name and the image you ship (repo:tag). With a public registry the first release is published and promoted to stable in the same step.
  2. Create a release: an image tag. For a public registry Fleetwide resolves it to a digest; for a private one you paste the digest. The release is immutable from then on.
  3. Create a fleet under Run → Fleets. A fleet follows one channel; stable exists from the start and points at your first release once you promote it.
  4. Add a deployment to the fleet. It hands you an enrollment key and the run command for Docker, Compose, Kubernetes or Swarm.
  5. Run it on the customer's host. The container enrolls, pulls the release and starts your app. It appears on the fleet page within one check-in.
docker run -d --name web-1 --restart unless-stopped \
  -v web-1-state:/var/lib/fleetwide \
  -e FLEETWIDE_KEY=fw1.eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL2FnZW50cy5mbGVldHdpZGUu… \
  -p 8080:8080 public.ecr.aws/fleetwide/slim:latest

Publish the next release and promote it to stable. Every container that follows the channel picks it up on its next check-in, a batch at a time, and the deployment page shows it land.

fleetwide

Over-the-air updates and fleet management for Docker containers. The supervisor runs inside the container; nothing on the host.
