Apps and releases
An app is one image you ship: its key, registry and repository, the assets it carries, its runtime (supervisor or embedded), its health check and the metrics it declares. A release is one version of it: an image tag resolved to a digest, plus the asset versions pinned with it. Supervisors only ever pull by digest, so what you published is what runs.
A multi-platform tag pins the index digest: one release covers every architecture, and each container resolves the image for its own chip. Nothing chooses an architecture at publish time.
Releases are immutable. Publishing one moves nothing: a release does nothing until a channel points at it. A release can carry notes, and the console shows how many containers run each one.
